I really want my kids to excel in school, and my kids want it too. It
is good that I was able to inspire him so that he motivates himself to
make sure he conducts himself in a worthwhile manner while making sure
he learns the right things that will be invaluable to him later in life.

The other day my eldest gave me a call.  " I got a 99 in my science, " he said.

"Why, what did you get wrong?" I asked.

"Actually,
", he said, " I hope I did the right thing. The teacher gave me 100,
but I knew there was a question I got wrong, so I told her, and she
agreed. So I got 99, "

I knew this was something more than just
one point in a test score. In his grip with disappointment at not
getting the perfect score, and his deliberate decision to inform the
teacher of his mistake is something that he probably have give a lot of
thought and how I respond to what he did would be something that would
give him something to gauge his behavior by in the future.

IN moments like this, make sure you also give the right response in guiding your kids.
